Hushan Reservoir Environmental Education Park Introduction
Hushan Reservoir, an ecological treasure, was built in 2015 and is the newest reservoir in Taiwan. The serene walking paths in the reservoir area create an image of an ecological green corridor, showcasing the local cultural and historical significance of water management as well as the construction process of the reservoir. On clear days, visitors can enjoy views of the Douliu Plain and even the distant coastline from the Qianshan Park and observation deck. Hushan Reservoir is the first reservoir in Yunlin County and the first off-channel reservoir in Taiwan, located in Douliu City and Gukeng Township of Yunlin County, with a storage capacity of 52.18 million metric tons, ranking tenth among all reservoirs in Taiwan. The construction was completed at the end of 2015, and it was initially necessary to make reservations for visits; however, in response to the recreational needs of the people in Yunlin, it was opened to the public in February 2018, offering a three-kilometer-long path to enjoy the tranquility of nature.
