Hushan Reservoir Environmental Education Park Introduction
Hushan Reservoir, built in 2015, is the newest reservoir in Taiwan. The tranquil trails in the reservoir area create an ecological green corridor that introduces the local cultural and historical significance of water conservation and the construction process of the reservoir. On clear days, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Douliu Plain and even the distant coastline from Qianshan Park and the observation deck. Hushan Reservoir is the first reservoir in Yunlin County and also the first off-stream reservoir in Taiwan. It is located in Douliu City and Gukeng Township, with a storage capacity of 52.18 million metric tons, ranking tenth among all reservoirs in Taiwan. The construction was fully completed at the end of 2015, and initially, visits had to be scheduled in advance. However, in response to the recreational needs of the Yunlin community, it was opened to the public for visits in February 2018. The trails stretch approximately three kilometers, allowing visitors to enjoy the tranquility of nature.
