Beigang Cultural Center Introduction
1F Exhibition Room, Chiahu Performance Hall "Exhibition Room": Various art exhibitions such as crafts, fine arts, calligraphy, and photography can be held here. Applications for the use of the first-floor exhibition space for the following year can be submitted before the end of May each year. "Chiahu Music Hall": The Chiahu Performance Hall is a refined venue available for professional performing arts groups in the coastal area of Yunlin, where music, dance, and theater can be hosted, enhancing the musical culture of the coastal region. It is named after the Chiahu family of the Beigang area, known for their musical heritage. After the passing of the family patriarch, who founded the Beigang Orchestra, his son Chen Zhezheng continued the musical vision by establishing the Beigang Philharmonic Association. 2F Permanent Exhibition "Beigang Matsu Pilgrimage Special Exhibition": The main exhibition space on the second floor is devoted to the theme of the "Beigang Matsu Pilgrimage." This tradition, which has been passed down for over 300 years, is listed as an important national folk cultural heritage. Every year on the 19th and 20th days of the lunar calendar, the Beigang area is bustling with thousands of people and the sounds of firecrackers, which is also known as "Beigang Little New Year." The "live art float" is a unique feature of Beigang's pilgrimage procession. The special exhibition on the "Beigang Matsu Pilgrimage" not only showcases artifacts related to the procession but also includes five videos related to the Matsu pilgrimage, interactive games, and a display of the "Beigang Matsu Pilgrimage Chaozhou Pottery Procession," presenting the lively atmosphere and majestic spirit of the Matsu procession.
