Built in the 13th year of the Wanli era (1602 AD), it has been 412 years to date. The ancestors of the Houliao Village in Baisha Township bravely crossed the turbulent seas from Jinsha, Fujian Province to Penghu, enduring hardships and challenges while diligently cultivating the land. However, the area was often afflicted by malarial outbreaks, prompting the village elders to establish the Weiling Temple to worship Bao Sheng Emperor, seeking blessings for the safety of the entire village.

Wenling Temple Introduction

The main deity worshipped: Baosheng Dadi Festival date: The fifteenth day of the third lunar month Founded in the thirteenth year of the Ming dynasty's Wanli era (AD 1602), it has a history of four hundred and twelve years. The ancestors of the residents of Houliao Village in Baisha Township, despite the hardships of turbulent waves, crossed the sea from Kinmen, Fujian Province to Penghu. They faced numerous obstacles and worked hard to cultivate the land. However, the area frequently suffered from endemic diseases. At this time, the elders of the village established the Weiling Palace in this location to worship Baosheng Dadi, seeking blessings for the safety of the entire village.
