Yangmingshan Hot Springs Area - Xiaoyoukeng Introduction
Xiao You Keng is a geological park formed by post-volcanic activity. It can be accessed via the viewing trail by turning right at the Xiao Guanyin Station on the Yangjin Highway. The area is characterized by features formed from "post-volcanic activity," including gas vents, sulfur crystals, hot springs, and spectacular collapse topography. From the viewing platform here, visitors can also gaze upon volcanic cones such as Zhuzi Mountain, Datun Mountain, Qixing Mountain, and Xiao Guanyin Mountain, as well as the Jinshan coast and parking lot. For visitors interested in plant observation, the nearby Jian bamboo forest trail allows a short walk of about ten minutes to explore the bamboo forest, miscanthus fields, and volcanic plants.
