Yangming Park Introduction

Yangmingshan Park is located in the northern part of Taipei City, about 17 kilometers from the city center. During the Japanese colonial era, this area was covered with grasses, hence it was called Caoshan. After the restoration of Taiwan, in 1950, the name was changed to Yangmingshan to commemorate Wang Yangming, and the Yangmingshan National Park Administration was established to develop Yangmingshan Park. However, the park's urban planning area is about 107 hectares, and after the reorganization of the Yangmingshan National Park Administration in 1977, the park operations were handed over to the Park Lighting Engineering Management Office. This park, which belongs to the Datun Mountain range and is situated at an altitude of 445 meters, is bordered by Qixing Mountain to the rear, Shamao Mountain to the left, and Datun Mountain to the right, with a distant view of the layered Qunyan Mountain. The climate is warm and humid, with cool summers, making it an excellent summer retreat and the only place in Taiwan with the features of a dead volcano, sulfur vents, and natural hot springs. The park is filled with various flowers including plum, cherry, peach, loquat, azalea, and camellia. Every spring when the cherry blossoms bloom, it attracts many visitors for flower viewing, along with a flower clock made up of various seasonal flowers. If you visit here, don't forget to take a photo with the iconic flower clock of Yangmingshan. At Yangmingshan Park, you can enjoy flower viewing in spring, escape the heat in summer, admire the miscanthus and maple leaves in autumn, and soak in hot springs in winter; the diverse beauty and fun of Yangmingshan throughout the four seasons await you to explore!
