Yangming Park Introduction
Yangmingshan Park is located in the northern part of Taipei City, approximately 17 kilometers from the urban area. During the Japanese colonial period, this area was filled with reeds, hence it was called Caoshan. After Taiwan's retrocession, in order to commemorate Wang Yangming, the name was changed from "Caoshan" to "Yangmingshan" in 1950, and the Yangmingshan National Park Administration was established to develop Yangmingshan Park. However, the planned area of the park is approximately 107 hectares, and after the restructuring of the administration in 1977, the park operations were handed over to the Park and Road Lighting Engineering Office. This park, part of the Datun Mountain range, is 445 meters above sea level, with Qixing Mountain to the rear, Shamao Mountain to the left, and Datun Mountain to the right, while Guanyin Mountain looms in the distance; it has a warm, humid climate and cool summers, making it an excellent summer retreat. It is also the only place in Taiwan with volcanic topography, sulfur vents, and natural hot spring landscapes. The park is filled with various flowers such as plum, cherry, peach, apricot, azalea, and camellia. Every spring, the cherry blossoms bloom, attracting many people to come and enjoy the flowers; along with a flower clock made of various seasonal flowers. If you visit, don't forget to take a photo with the iconic flower clock of Yangmingshan. At Yangmingshan Park, you can admire flowers in spring, escape the heat in summer, view pampas grass and maple leaves in autumn, and soak in hot springs in winter. The different beautiful sceneries and fun activities throughout the four seasons of Yangmingshan await your discovery!
