Ao Wan Da, Taipei Introduction
For those who love the beauty of maple leaves, there's no need to travel far to Canada or Japan; the 'Taipei Aowanda' offers an exquisite visual experience right nearby. Here, visitors can enjoy the maple foliage without having to wait for the autumn and winter seasons. From March to April in spring, you can appreciate stunning views filled with red maples. The park features a variety of plants, including pines, sakuras, cypress, maples, and camellias, all cultivated from seedlings, which results in unique shapes. Among these, black pines and maples are the most abundant and represent the signature flora of Taipei Aowanda. Most tourists are particularly impressed by the yearly maple foliage; typically, maple viewing season occurs in autumn and winter and requires cold fronts to see the changing leaves. However, Taipei Aowanda not only showcases maple leaves in autumn and winter, but the best season for viewing them is actually from March to April, mainly because the maples here are grafted from Japanese varieties. Due to the characteristics of these varieties, the young buds are red for over a month, and as temperatures gradually rise and rainfall influences, the chlorophyll changes from red to green. Additionally, there are many different varieties showcasing a range of colors. (Source: Taipei Aowanda Facebook)
