Shun Yi Museum of Formosan Aborigines Introduction
Shunyi Indigenous Museum of Taiwan is the first private museum in the country dedicated to indigenous peoples. When passing by, it's hard to miss its unique architectural design—a solid gray trapezoidal building adorned with stained glass windows, with a stone pillar in the center engraved with indigenous totems, exuding a hint of mystery, as if it has a magical power inviting people to step into the fascinating world of Taiwan's indigenous cultures. The museum's collection has four main themes, detailing the distribution of various indigenous tribes in Taiwan, as well as traditional daily life objects such as architecture, crafts, hunting tools, and beautiful traditional costumes of each tribe, along with the crucial ancestral spiritual beliefs of the indigenous peoples. The museum also regularly hosts various related activities and courses, allowing the public to experience indigenous culture in a more lively and relaxed manner, appreciating their respect for ancestors and wisdom of coexisting with nature.
