Shunyi Museum of Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples Introduction
The Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines is the first privately owned museum in Taiwan that focuses on indigenous peoples. When passing by, it's hard to miss the unique architectural shape—a stable gray trapezoidal structure with large stained-glass windows and a central stone pillar intricately carved with indigenous totems, exuding a mysterious aura that seems to possess a kind of magic, inviting people to step into the vibrant world of Taiwan's indigenous culture. The museum's collection is divided into four main themes, detailing the distribution of various indigenous tribes in Taiwan, as well as introductions to traditional daily life items like architecture, crafts, and hunting tools, along with the beautiful traditional costumes of the tribes and the essential ancestral beliefs of the indigenous peoples. The museum also periodically holds various related activities and courses, allowing the public to experience indigenous culture in a lively and relaxed manner, appreciating their reverence for ancestors and their wisdom of living in harmony with nature.
