Fulian Park Introduction
Fulin Park is located at the intersection of Zhongshan North Road and Fulin Road in Shilin District. Completed in 1991, it covers an area of approximately 2.6 hectares and has a triangular shape, serving as an open-style comprehensive park. The park's main feature is the elegant artistic sculptures designed and created by Professor Li Zhiwen from National Taipei University of the Arts, centered around natural scenes. There are six groups of sculptures representing the sun, clouds, mountains, waterfalls, water, and wells, which use abstract expressionism to give a three-dimensional form to natural landscapes through pictographic characters. Except for the "water" sculpture, which is cast in bronze, all five other groups are made of natural stone. The park is interconnected with these sculptures, using the changes in space and colors to present a different visual landscape, offering diverse effects and aesthetics from both afar and up close. Fulin Park is only separated from the Shilin Official Residence Park by a road. In 2009, the park underwent updates to accommodate nearby parking needs and the establishment of the Li Ke-yung Memorial Library, with an underground parking lot that can accommodate 232 cars and 67 motorcycles, along with space for 10 buses. This not only provides convenience for visitors to the Shilin Official Residence but also benefits those going to Yangmingshan to enjoy flower viewing and hot springs, as they can park here and take a bus up the mountain, avoiding the hassle of traffic jams. The park is lush with green grass, and walking among the verdant woods feels like being in the countryside. In the bustling city, such scenery is becoming increasingly rare. We invite you to embark on a visual landscape journey!
