Fulin Park Introduction
Fulin Park is located at the intersection of Zhongshan North Road and Fulin Road in the Shilin District. Established in 1991, it covers an area of approximately 2.6 hectares and is shaped like a triangle, serving as an open-style comprehensive park. The park’s biggest highlight is the elegant art sculptures designed by Professor Li Zhiwen from the Department of Fine Arts of the National Taipei University of the Arts, featuring elements of nature as the main subject. There are six sets of sculptures representing the sun, clouds, mountains, waterfalls, water, and wells, which abstractly express natural landscapes in three-dimensional forms using pictograms; except for 'water' which is cast in bronze, the other five sets are made entirely from natural stone. These natural sculptures span the entire park, providing a unique visual landscape through variations in space and shapes, creating different effects and aesthetics from afar and up close. Fulin Park is only separated from the Shilin Presidential Residence by a single road. In 2009, the park underwent renovations to accommodate parking needs and establish the Li Keyong Memorial Library, with an underground parking lot that holds 232 cars and 67 motorcycles, as well as space for 10 tour buses. This not only makes it convenient for visitors to park while visiting the Shilin Presidential Residence, but also benefits those going to Yangmingshan for flower viewing and hot springs, allowing them to park here and easily take a bus up the mountain without the hassle of traffic jams. With its lush green grass and pathways winding through verdant forests, walking in Fulin Park feels like being immersed in rural mountain fields. In the bustling metropolis, such scenery has become increasingly rare. We invite you to embark on a visual landscape journey!
