Zhishan Cultural and Ecological Green Park Introduction
Zhishanyan has archaeological test pits that have unearthed the remains of ancestors from about 2,500 years ago, containing many important treasures and archaeological resources. Over 6,000 years, it has developed into seven cultural layers of ruins, making it a living archaeological classroom. In 1896, the "Zhishanyan Incident" occurred, involving an attack by anti-Japanese militia on Japanese teachers. After the retrocession, it also served as a military stronghold for the Intelligence Bureau. In recent years, under the planning of the Taipei City Cultural Bureau, the former ammunition depot here has been transformed into an exhibition hall. Visitors can enjoy nature along the natural trails of Zhishan while also visiting the exhibition hall to learn about the cultural background of Zhishan and explore the deepest secrets of Taipei City. The Zhishanyan Exhibition Hall integrates the natural ecology and geological landscape of Zhishan. The first floor features physical exhibition rooms: models of geological strata, clearly displaying the textures of the strata and changes in each layer; a full area model, providing a bird's eye view of the entire Zhishanyan; and a restoration model of pottery, illustrating the evolution of tools used by early ancestors from rough to delicate forms. The first floor also includes many explanatory panels, such as a prehistoric archaeological corridor introducing the history and discoveries of archaeology, as well as explanations of animals, plants, geology, and biology, allowing the public to understand the story of Zhishan. The second floor features a multimedia classroom, which includes a DIY classroom and creative drawing activities where visitors can express their creativity, as well as a screening room for ecological films and observation windows. Additionally, there is a small news anchor experience booth, allowing children to experience the fun of reporting news. The establishment of the exhibition hall is the first step in preserving the culture of Zhishanyan. Throughout the visiting process, it aims to evoke the public's attention and affection for this land, which is the most important value of the exhibition hall.
