Taipei City Local Education Center - Bopiliao Historical Block Introduction
In the old alleys of Wanhua District, Taipei, there is an area known as "Bopiliao," which retains the appearance of streets from the Qing Dynasty over a century ago, featuring red brick walls, arched corridors, and intricately-carved window grilles, showcasing an elegant and simple beauty. The Bopiliao Historical Block is located next to Longshan Temple, at the intersection of Kangding Road, Guangzhou Street, and Kunming Street. This area preserves a relatively complete street layout from the Qing Dynasty and traditional shop houses, with its architectural spaces witnessing the development of the Mengjia commercial district, embodying unique historical culture and architectural characteristics. The "Taipei City Indigenous Education Center" adopts immersive education and cultural concepts, serving as a venue for promoting local education by integrating school education and community culture, planning various themed exhibitions, and special historical exhibitions related to Bopiliao, along with various educational activities to achieve the function of educating while entertaining. In recent years, in addition to promoting film culture, activities, and education, the development of the Bopiliao area has also embraced high-quality artistic performances, becoming a gateway for cultural experience platforms, with the hope of connecting local characteristics and creating a flow of stories and memories, giving this space more meaning.
