Monga Sui-Sian Temple Old Site Introduction

At the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in Wanhua District stands a monument marking the site of the Monga Water Fairy Temple. In the past, Monga thrived as a prosperous settlement relying on water transport. To ensure safe navigation and water transport, local merchants began constructing the Monga Water Fairy Temple during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, primarily dedicated to Emperor Yu (Yu the Great). However, due to the old temple's damage and the urban planning implemented by the Japanese government at the time, the Water Fairy Temple was demolished and relocated, becoming part of history.
