Monga Shuizian Temple Site Introduction
At the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in the Wanhua District stands a monument marking the old site of Monga Shui Xian Temple. In the past, Monga thrived as a commercial settlement reliant on waterways. To ensure the safety of navigation and water transport, local merchants in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty initiated the construction of the Monga Shui Xian Temple, dedicated to the worship of Emperor Yu (Da Yu). However, due to the temple's old and damaged condition, along with the urban planning implemented by the Japanese government at the time, the Shui Xian Temple was demolished and relocated, becoming a part of history.
