Monga Shuixian Temple Site Introduction

At the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in Wanhua District, there is a monument marking the old site of Mengjia Shuixian Temple. In the past, Mengjia prospered as a commercial settlement relying on water transportation. To bless maritime safety and water transport, the merchants of Mengjia built the Mengjia Shuixian Temple during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, primarily worshiping Emperor Yu (Da Yu). However, due to the temple's deterioration and the urban planning implemented by the Japanese government at that time, the Shuixian Temple was demolished and relocated, fading into history.
