Mengjia Suihsien Temple Ruins Introduction
At the intersection of Xichang Street and Guilin Road in Wanhua District, there is a monument marking the old site of Matsu Water Immortals Temple. In the past, Matsu grew into a prosperous commercial settlement due to its reliance on water transport. To bless the safety of navigation and water transport, merchants from Matsu built the Matsu Water Immortals Temple during the Qianlong period of the Qing dynasty, dedicated to the worship of the Da Yu (Emperor Yu). However, due to the deterioration of the old temple and the urban planning implemented by the Japanese government at that time, the Water Immortals Temple was dismantled and relocated, becoming a part of history.
