Tsai Dong Hsing号 Introduction
Cai Dongxing Hao, located on Huanhe West Road in Yonghe District, is another highly popular rice cake shop in New Taipei City, just like Zhou's Rice Cake. What makes Cai Dongxing Hao special is that it focuses solely on the production of rice cakes, specifically the "Ningbo rice cake" inherited from Zhejiang. Using Penglai rice as the main ingredient, the rice is washed and slowly ground into a rice paste with water. The result is a rice cake with a chewy texture, fine mouthfeel, and a unique creaminess.
