Evergreen Maritime Museum Introduction
The establishment of the Evergreen Maritime Museum is a long-held wish of Mr. Chang Jung-Wei, the president of Evergreen Group, hoping to illustrate his profound relationship with the ocean and promote maritime education in Taiwan. This is a maritime-themed museum suitable for visitors from different generations and backgrounds. The museum houses a rich collection of model ships, ranging from ancient canoes built by early humans through excavation to various types of sailboats, mechanically powered ships, and workboats developed in the West; it also features bamboo rafts that reflect the local culture of Taiwan's islands, as well as the Wong boats that hold religious significance. Additionally, the museum displays a considerable number of paintings set against maritime backgrounds, spanning the 18th to 20th centuries, allowing visitors to appreciate the unique oceanic scenes captured by artists from different eras, from the tumultuous battlefields to the shimmering seascapes. Furthermore, the Evergreen Maritime Museum also offers a nautical exploration area, equipped with navigation instruments and multimedia interactive displays, allowing audiences to experience knowledge related to maritime navigation firsthand.
