National Taiwan University Hospital, Hsin-Chu Branch Introduction
National Taiwan University Hospital was established during the Japanese colonial period, formerly known as Taipei Hospital, Governor-General of Taiwan Taipei Hospital, and Taipei Imperial University Medical Department Affiliated Hospital. After the war, it was renamed National Taiwan University Hospital and is the core of modern medical development in Taiwan. The western campus building is currently used for outpatient services and some wards. This building was designed by Mr. Kondo Juro, featuring a Renaissance style with red brick and reinforced concrete in two stories. The layout is symmetrical with a central corridor connecting various outpatient services and wards. The lobby is solemn and magnificent, characterized by spaciousness and employing many Western architectural techniques, making it a masterpiece of modern Western architecture. At that time, it was the largest and most modern hospital in Southeast Asia.
