Rongxing Garden Park Introduction
Rongxing Garden Park is located in the Zhongshan District, situated in the city center. It borders Longjiang Street to the east, Jianguo North Road to the west, Minquan East Road to the south, and Wuchang Street to the north. The park covers a rectangular area of 6.5 hectares, initially constructed as a private garden in 1968, and was officially opened to the public as a park in August 1989 after being expropriated. From 2001 to 2006, the park underwent a three-phase renovation that preserved various features such as the Bougainvillea flower arch, the ecological pond at Liugong Stream, a water stage for performances, and a shaded plaza for morning and evening use. It provides diverse spaces for activities such as dancing, Tai Chi, and areas like the northeastern sunlit lawn, the sycamore walkway, leisure garden paths, a scenic lotus pond, wooden walkways, a children's playground, a basketball court, a red brick running track, a uniquely designed management service center, three comfortable restrooms, and pavilions for socializing and chess. In recent years, there has been a focus on ecology, with community leaders, local residents, and experts collaborating to restore fireflies in the ecological pond. The park continues to conduct ecological surveys and plan for environmental improvements. Currently, there is a stable population of fireflies, making it one of the rare places in Taipei where one can observe them.
