Taipei Songshan Airport Observation Deck Introduction
The observation deck will undergo renovation starting from October 2023 for a period of 8 to 10 months, with the completion date subject to weather conditions and construction progress. The Taipei International Airport observation deck reopened in November 2010 and is located on the 3rd floor between Terminals 1 and 2, covering an area of approximately 545 square meters. The landscaping features trees that adapt well to Taiwan's climate, specifically ironwood, which benefits from low radiant heat. Additionally, to align with the image of an international airport, the deck was designed by world-renowned Spanish designer Alexander Lotersztain and is named "Twig," meaning tender branch. It features glowing outdoor seating to provide visitors with different scenic experiences during the day and night. An outdoor light meal area is also planned on the west side of the entrance plaza for visitors to relax and dine. The observation deck is free to access, making it a new leisure option for the public.
