Erjien Mountain is located in Longyan Village, Meishan Township, Chiayi County. It is the secondary peak of Dajian Mountain, with an elevation of 1,274 meters. Starting from Zhuzai Cen, hikers can walk along the ridge of Dajian Mountain, passing by the first-class triangulation point at the highest elevation of 1,304 meters on Dajian Mountain, and then gradually descend to a great resting spot for hikers. Another trailhead is located behind Longxing Temple, where one can climb up along the wooden plank path. Along the way, besides bamboo forests and coniferous trees, there are also tea gardens that add a unique flavor to the experience. At the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, when cold fronts arrive, there is a better chance to witness the magnificent sea of clouds. Strolling along the trails feels like being in a paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Dajian Mountain has an elevation of 1,299 meters, with a first-class triangulation point at the summit ridge, which is about a 15-minute walk away. Towards the direction of Gukeng, one can overlook the Chiayi plain and the betel nut trees, while towards the Meishan direction, one can enjoy a view of the valleys and tea gardens, with a distant sight of Caoling, making for an excellent vantage point.

Erjian Mountain Introduction

Erjia Mountain is located in Longyan Village, Meishan Township, Chiayi County. It is the subsidiary peak of Dajian Mountain, standing at 1,274 meters high. Starting from Zhuziceng, hikers walk along the ridge of Dajian Mountain, passing the first-order triangulation point of Dajian Mountain, which is at an elevation of 1,304 meters. After a gentle descent, they reach a great resting spot for mountaineers. Another trailhead is located behind Longxing Temple, where hikers ascend along a wooden plank path. Along the way, they will encounter bamboo and sandalwood forests, and occasionally pass through tea plantations, adding a unique charm to the hike. At the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, when cold air masses arrive, there is a chance to witness the magnificent sea of clouds, making the walk along the trail feel like a paradise. The summit of Dajian Mountain stands at 1,299 meters and features a first-order triangulation point. The two are located along the mountain's ridgeline, approximately a 15-minute trek apart. Toward Gukeng, one can overlook the Chiayi and Yunlin plain as well as the areca nut trees, and toward Meishan, one can gaze down into the valley and tea plantations, with the distant Caoling in clear view, making for an excellent vista.

Transportation Methods:【Huashan Educational Farm 10-5 Trailhead】 Tai Xi Bus Line 7121: From Douliu to Qingshuikeng Bridge, get off at Wuqiping Station to reach the 10-5 Trailhead, with two round trips daily. Tai Xi Bus Line 7129: From Douliu to Kulingjiao, get off at Kulingjiao Station, follow Yun 212 County Road to County Road 149, and walk about 2.5 kilometers to reach the 10-5 Trailhead, with six trips on weekdays and five trips on weekends. Tai Xi Bus Line 7106: From Dou Nan to Huashan, get off at Huashan Station, walk 4.5 kilometers along County Road 149 to reach the 10-5 Trailhead, with seven round trips daily.


Remarks:The main trailheads for Ta-Jian Mountain are as follows: 1. Hua Mountain 10-5 Trailhead: Located in Huashan Village, Gukeng Township, Yunlin County, it starts from the Huashan Educational Farm at the 29k mark of County Road 149.
