Ersu Mountain, located in Longyan Village, Meishan Township, Chiayi County, has an elevation of 1,274 meters and is a subsidiary peak of Dajian Mountain. The ridge here perfectly separates Yunlin's Gukeng and Chiayi's Meishan, making it the most representative natural boundary between the two counties. Due to its terrain rising from the eastern side of the Yunlin-Chiayi Plain, the nearby Dajian Mountain offers magnificent views from a first-order triangulation point, making this ridge trail a popular hiking route. The most captivating scenery of Ersu Mountain is found on the "Ma Zao Trail," which ascends in steps from behind Longxing Temple. This trail weaves through tea plantations, bamboo forests, and cedar forests, and as the altitude increases, the views gradually expand. The undulating green tea terraces on both sides have earned it the nickname "Chiayi's Matcha Mountain." Excellent viewpoints: Ersu Mountain connects with Dajian Mountain (elevation 1,304 meters) at the ridge peak, and it takes only about 15 minutes to walk between the two peaks. Toward Gukeng, one can overlook the vast Yunlin-Chiayi Plain; turning toward Meishan offers deep valleys and terraced tea gardens, and on clear days, one can see Caoling and the peaks of Yushan. Seasonal limited beauty: From late autumn to early spring each year, this area is easily affected by cold air, creating wave-like clouds...
