Erjian Mountain Introduction
Erjia Mountain is located in Longyan Village, Meishan Township, Chiayi County. It is the subsidiary peak of Dajian Mountain, standing at 1,274 meters high. Starting from Zhuziceng, hikers walk along the ridge of Dajian Mountain, passing the first-order triangulation point of Dajian Mountain, which is at an elevation of 1,304 meters. After a gentle descent, they reach a great resting spot for mountaineers. Another trailhead is located behind Longxing Temple, where hikers ascend along a wooden plank path. Along the way, they will encounter bamboo and sandalwood forests, and occasionally pass through tea plantations, adding a unique charm to the hike. At the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, when cold air masses arrive, there is a chance to witness the magnificent sea of clouds, making the walk along the trail feel like a paradise. The summit of Dajian Mountain stands at 1,299 meters and features a first-order triangulation point. The two are located along the mountain's ridgeline, approximately a 15-minute trek apart. Toward Gukeng, one can overlook the Chiayi and Yunlin plain as well as the areca nut trees, and toward Meishan, one can gaze down into the valley and tea plantations, with the distant Caoling in clear view, making for an excellent vista.
