Fulong Ocean Station Introduction
The Ocean Station is part of the Coast Guard Administration of the Ocean Affairs Council’s “Salute to the Sea” policy, transforming the Coast Guard’s facilities into Ocean Stations with educational and recreational functions. There are a total of 12 stations across Taiwan, with Fulong Ocean Station being the first, divided into Fulong Branch and Longmen Branch. The Fulong Branch is located next to Fulong Fishing Port in Gongliao, just a 10-minute walk from Fulong Railway Station. The Longmen Branch is situated next to Longmen Beach and the mouth of the Shuangxi River, close to Fulong Beach, Sandiao Cape Lighthouse, and the Old Caoling Tunnel. Due to the low and steady water level of the Shuangxi River, it has become a sanctuary for recreational activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The station provides guided services and has facilities including an outdoor rinsing area, outdoor resting area, indoor restrooms, and accessible toilets.
