Fulong Ocean Station Introduction
The Ocean Station is part of the Ocean Affairs Council's Coast Guard Administration initiative, which transforms the Coast Guard's premises into educational and recreational Ocean Stations as a tribute to the ocean. A total of 12 stations are set up across Taiwan, with the Fulong Ocean Station being the first. It is divided into two sub-stations: Fulong Sub-Station and Longmen Sub-Station. The Fulong Sub-Station is located next to Fulong Fishing Port in Gongliao, which is about a 10-minute walk from Fulong Train Station. The Longmen Sub-Station is situated near Longmen Beach and the mouth of the Shuangxi River, close to Fulong Beach, Sandiao Cape Lighthouse, and the Old Grass Lantern Tunnel. Due to the low and stable water levels of the Shuangxi River, it has become a popular destination for water recreation activities such as canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. The station not only provides guided services but also features outdoor simple washing areas, outdoor resting areas, indoor bathroom facilities, and accessible restrooms.
