Fulung Ocean Station Introduction
The Ocean Station is part of the Ocean Affairs Council's Coast Guard Administration's initiative to honor the sea in collaboration with the Executive Yuan. It transforms Coast Guard facilities into ocean stations with educational and recreational functions, with a total of 12 locations throughout Taiwan. The Fulong Ocean Station is the first station, divided into the Fulong branch and the Longmen branch. The Fulong branch is located next to Fulong Fishing Port in Gongliao, just about a 10-minute walk from Fulong Train Station. The Longmen branch is situated near Longmen Beach and the estuary of the Shuangxi River, close to Fulong Beach, Sandiao Cape Lighthouse, and the Old Caoling Tunnel. Due to the low and stable water level of the Shuangxi River, it has become a hub for recreational activities such as kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. The station provides guided tours and has facilities including an outdoor rinse area, outdoor resting area, indoor restroom facilities, and accessible toilets.
