Fulong Ocean Station Introduction
The Ocean Station is part of the Ocean Affairs Council's Coast Guard Administration and the Executive Yuan's "Salute to the Sea" policy, transforming Coast Guard facilities into ocean stations that serve educational and recreational purposes. A total of 12 stations are set up across Taiwan, with Fulong Ocean Station as the first stop, divided into Fulong Branch and Longmen Branch. The Fulong Branch is located next to Fulong Fishing Port in Gongliao and is about a 10-minute walk from Fulong Train Station. The Longmen Branch is situated near Longmen Beach and the mouth of the Shuangsi River, close to Fulong Beach, Sandiao Cape Lighthouse, and the Old Caoling Tunnel. Due to the shallow and stable water level of the Shuangsi River, it has become a paradise for water recreation activities such as canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. The station provides guided services and offers various facilities, including an outdoor wash area, outdoor rest area, indoor bathroom facilities, and accessible restrooms.
