Taoyuan North District Hakka Cultural Center Introduction
The "Northern Hakka Cultural Center" located in Bade District officially opened on October 23, 2021. The northern Taoyuan area has approximately 260,000 Hakka residents, and the center's main mission is to connect the local Hakka historical and cultural context and to revive the cultural identity of the Hakka community. The center focuses on Hakka poetry, Hakka mountain songs, and local Hakka culture, featuring exhibitions dedicated to two important figures: Hakka poet Du Pan Fangge and National Treasure of Hakka mountain songs Lai Bi Xia. Their outstanding artistic achievements are intended to lead the center in the inheritance and promotion of Hakka culture. Inside the center, there are music and dance classrooms, multifunctional classrooms, and presentation rooms, as well as a Hakka concert hall that can accommodate 200 seats.
