Taoyuan Hakka Cultural Center Introduction
The "Northern District Hakka Cultural Center" located in Bade District officially opened on October 23, 2021. The northern Taoyuan area has approximately 260,000 Hakka residents, and the center's main mission is to connect the local Hakka historical and cultural context and to restore the cultural identity of the Hakka community. The center focuses on Hakka poetry, Hakka mountain songs, and local Hakka culture. It features exhibitions dedicated to two significant figures: Hakka poet Du Pan-fang and the national treasure of Hakka mountain songs, Lai Bi-hsia. Through their outstanding artistic achievements, the center aims to promote and preserve Hakka culture. The interior includes spaces for music and dance classes, multi-functional classrooms, and a presentation room, as well as a Hakka concert hall that can accommodate 200 seats.
