The "Northern Hakka Cultural Center" located in Bade District officially opened on October 23, 2021. The northern Taoyuan area has about 260,000 Hakka residents, and the center's main mission is to connect the local Hakka historical and cultural context, rekindling the cultural identity of the Hakka community. The center is centered around Hakka poetry, Hakka mountain songs, and local Hakka culture. It features exhibitions dedicated to significant figures such as Hakka poet Du Panfang and national treasure of Hakka mountain songs Lai Bixia, hoping that their outstanding artistic achievements will lead the center in the inheritance and promotion of Hakka culture. Inside the center, there are music and dance classrooms, multifunctional classrooms, and presentation rooms, as well as a Hakka concert hall that can accommodate 200 seats. The exterior features an open grassland that can host a variety of enriching Hakka cultural activities. (Source: Hakka Affairs Council, Taoyuan City Government)
