Taoyuan North District Hakka Cultural Hall Introduction
The "Northern Hakka Cultural Center" located in Bade District officially opened on October 23, 2021. The northern Taoyuan area has about 260,000 Hakka residents, and the center’s main mission is to connect the local Hakka historical and cultural contexts and to revive the Hakka community's cultural identity. The center focuses on Hakka poetry, Hakka mountain songs, and local Hakka culture. Inside, exhibitions showcase two important figures: Hakka poet Du Pan-fang and the national treasure of Hakka mountain songs, Lai Bi-xia. Their outstanding artistic achievements aim to lead the center in the transmission and promotion of Hakka culture. The interior of the center includes a music and dance studio, multifunctional classrooms, and a presentation room, as well as a Hakka concert hall with a seating capacity of 200.
