Neihu Ecological Restoration Park Introduction

The park is bordered by Qixing Mountain to the north, the Keelung River to the south, starting from the Nanhu Bridge to the east and extending to Anmei Street to the west, covering an area of about 10 hectares. It includes a flat area and a small hill approximately 40 meters high, which was preserved during the clearing project to allow the public to experience the transformation of Taiwan’s first garbage mountain into a beautiful rehabilitation park—a reborn urban lung that has restored cleanliness to the Keelung River. The park is divided into a rehabilitation forest area, a recreational area, and a high-tide zone. The recreational area includes a sunny lawn, an activity square, a scenic plaza, a vision frame, and a viewing platform, with the sunny lawn alone covering over 10,000 square meters, equivalent to 1.5 football fields, allowing visitors to relax, gaze at the blue sky, and enjoy recreational activities. The park features a rich natural ecosystem with over 162 species of plants and more than 41 species of animals. Its diverse flora, including trees and shrubs like Japanese knotweed and water bamboo, attracts flocks of birds to inhabit the Huadong Rehabilitation Park. Following the ecological trail, visitors can enjoy the scenery and, upon reaching the viewing platform, can gaze upon the iconic Taipei 101 building, taking in the stunning views of Taipei.
