Taiwan Modern Music Bell Museum Introduction
Welcome to the magical world of music boxes! The Taiwan Modern Music Box Museum, established by the local Hikaru Precision Company in Wufeng, has been operating for 43 years and is the only factory that exports music boxes to Japan's Sankyo. Nestled in the culturally rich and musically inclined Wufeng, Taichung, the delightful melodies from the Otaru Music Box Museum in Hokkaido are crafted by Taiwan's Hikaru Company, making it a true pride of Taiwan! The museum now opens its doors to the public for visits and hands-on experiences in creating music boxes. Everyone is welcome to step into the colorful world of music boxes. The museum showcases over 140-year-old European antique music boxes, a variety of music boxes made from different materials and styles, disk-type and cylinder-type music boxes with interchangeable tunes, exquisite music boxes ranging from 30 to 100 notes, as well as smart music boxes with one tune or unlimited tunes. There is an explanation room detailing the structure and principles of standard music boxes, along with displays of various types of music box movements and each component of the standard music box movement, explaining the materials and manufacturing methods used for each part. The tuning workshop for vibrational plates offers on-site tuning demonstrations for visitors to understand the principles behind the different pitch heights of musical combs and the challenges of tuning. With guided tours, visitors can enjoy the beautiful tones of a large music box valued at two million NT dollars, opening your heart to a relaxing and joyful atmosphere. The music box movement assembly experience classroom invites you to the DIY studio to personally experience how a master assembles various parts into a melodious music box, bringing together care, patience, and focus. Let's embark on a journey through the museum to appreciate the craftsmanship of music boxes! The steam train features four carriages with 16 seats and includes a magical tunnel to enhance the fun of the ride. The Baole Garden recreational facilities offer various play equipment (such as a grass slide, colorful climbing rocks, treehouses, trampolines, and rocking insects) that are freely available for family leisure. Music boxes possess a mysterious magic and charm that captivates both adults and children, bringing forth dreams and beautiful imaginations. The melodious songs produced by music boxes are filled with memories and provide a space for spiritual relaxation; they also represent the notes that created Taiwan's foreign exchange miracles and are a precious sound recording of Taiwan's 40-plus years of music box history.
