【Step into the Magical World of Music Boxes】The Taiwan Modern Music Box Museum was established by Hsieh-Ying Precision, a local company with 43 years of history based in Wufeng. It is the only factory producing music boxes for export to Japan's Sankyo. Nestled in the culturally rich and musical town of Wufeng, Taichung, the delightful melodies from the Otaru Music Box Museum in Hokkaido originate from the music boxes produced by Hsieh-Ying, truly a shining example of Taiwan! The museum is now open to the public for visits and hands-on experiences in making music boxes. We welcome everyone to step into the vibrant world of music boxes. The Music Box Museum showcases over 140-year-old European antique music boxes, a variety of music boxes made from different materials and styles, disc and cylinder music boxes with interchangeable melodies, exquisite music boxes ranging from 30 to 100 notes, and smart music boxes capable of playing a single song or limitless tunes. There is an explanation room that describes the structure and principles of standard music boxes. Various types of music box movements are on display, along with every part of the standard music box movement, detailing the materials used and the manufacturing processes of each part. The tuning workshop for vibration plates allows visitors to witness the tuning process in real-time, helping you understand the principles behind the different pitches of music box combs and the challenges of tuning them. Guided tours are available, featuring the beautiful sounds of a large music box valued at two million NT dollars, opening your heart to a pleasurable experience. Experience the assembly of music box movements in our DIY classroom, where you can learn firsthand how the craftsman assembles various components into a melodious music box, filled with care, patience, and focus. Let’s embark on a journey to experience the craftsmanship of music boxes! The steam train, a rail-mounted steam locomotive with four carriages and 16 seats, features a dreamy tunnel along the route, enhancing the whimsical joy of the ride. Baole Garden offers recreational facilities such as turf slides, colorful climbing rocks, tree houses, bouncing beds, and wobble bugs, all provided free for family fun. Music boxes possess a magical allure, captivating the hearts of both adults and children, and sparking dreams and creative imaginations. The pleasing melodies from music boxes evoke cherished memories and provide a soothing space for the soul. They played a role in creating Taiwan’s foreign exchange miracle and are a precious sound that records over 40 years of the history of music boxes in Taiwan.
