Zhongxing Village, Changhua Introduction
Jian Zhi Dream is blooming in Zhongxing Village, built in 1950 and located at the foot of Bagua Mountain. The first generation of residents mostly consisted of the children of General Gao Fangxian, who was a soldier in the Qingdao Protectorate of Shandong, China, along with their families. They migrated from Qingdao, Shandong to Taiwan, settled in Zhongxing Village, endured the ravages of war, and passed down the indomitable national spirit. In order to preserve this glorious history, the Changhua County government has been dedicated to promoting cultural heritage. Since 2009, efforts have been made to research the historical trajectory of Zhongxing Village, and in 2010, it was successfully registered as a historical building in Changhua County, being the only fully preserved military dependents' village in the county. In 2012, it was designated by the Ministry of National Defense as a cultural preservation area for military dependents' villages, and in 2021, it was revised and registered as a settlement architectural group. The park was completed in January 2026, with comprehensive restoration of the main buildings, fire safety, landscaping, drainage, sanitation, air conditioning, and recycling facilities. A professional operational team was introduced using the "Promotion of Private Participation in Public Construction" (ROT) model, and a formal contract was signed in February. The operational team plans to open the entire area in December, bringing in distinctive dining options, cultural and creative brands, and integrating youth entrepreneurship training, as well as offering a rare immersive accommodation experience in a military dependents' village in Taiwan.
