Zhongxing Village, Changhua Introduction
Jhuangzhu Dream - Blooming in Zhongxing Village Established in 1950, Zhongxing Village, located at the foot of Bagua Mountain, was home to the first generation of residents, who were mostly the children of General Gao Fangxian, a security officer from Qingdao, Shandong, along with their families. They migrated from Qingdao, Shandong to Taiwan, took root in Zhongxing Village, and endured the war years while passing down the unyielding national spirit. In order to preserve this glorious history, the Changhua County Government has been dedicated to promoting cultural heritage. Starting in 2009, they began researching the historical trajectory of Zhongxing Village, and in 2010, successfully registered it as a historical building in Changhua County. It is currently the only well-preserved military dependents' village in Changhua. In 2012, it was selected by the Ministry of National Defense as a cultural preservation area for military dependents, and in 2021 was revised to be registered as a settlement architectural group. After the completion of the Phase 1 plaza and environmental improvement project in October 2022, the Changhua County Cultural Bureau revitalized the area through a public service rental model, providing four buildings and six units for youth entrepreneurship. It officially opened for operation in January 2023, combining the surrounding landscape and local industry characteristics, presenting a fresh look to local residents and visitors. The second phase of the complete restoration project is expected to be completed by 2025, aiming to allow the history of the military dependents' village to continue flowing and to recreate the essence of Changhua.
