The "1895 Baguashan Anti-Japanese Historical Museum" depicts a painful history. On August 1, 1894, the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese government officially went to war over the issue of Korea. It is estimated that the Qing Dynasty mobilized 600,000 troops, while Japan sent 240,000 forces. The two countries engaged in a world-shocking land and naval battle along the Yalu River and in the Yellow Sea. Due to the outdated equipment and insufficient training of the Qing army, the proud Beiyang Fleet and the 35th regiment of the army collapsed at the start of the conflict, suffering heavy casualties, an event known as the First Sino-Japanese War.
