The narrow sense of Wanhua Old Street refers to the area on Guiyang Street in front of Qingshan Temple, formerly known as "Sweet Potato Market Street." It is known as the first street of Taipei, the oldest street in Taipei City, and the starting point of Wanhua's prosperity. It still retains some red brick architecture from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period.
