The narrow definition of Mengjia Old Street refers to the area along Guiyang Street in front of Mengjia Qingshan Temple, which was formerly known as "Sweet Potato Market Street." It is known as the first street of Taipei and is the oldest street in Taipei City, serving as the starting point of the prosperity of Mengjia. To this day, it still retains some brick buildings characteristic of the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period.
