Monga Old Street (Taipei First Street) Introduction
Narrowly defined, Wanhua Old Street refers to the area around Guiyang Street in front of Qingshan Temple, formerly known as "Sweet Potato Street." It is known as the first street in Taipei and is the oldest street in Taipei City, marking the beginning of Wanhua's prosperity. It still retains some red brick characteristic buildings from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonial period.
