Monga Old Street (Taipei's First Street) Introduction
The narrow definition of Monga Old Street refers to the area around Guiyang Street in front of the Qingshan Temple. It was formerly known as "Sweet Potato Market Street" and is referred to as the first street in Taipei. It is the oldest street in Taipei City and marks the starting point of the prosperity of Monga. To this day, it still retains some red brick buildings with characteristics from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period.
