Taipei Bridge Introduction

Completed in August 1889 by Liu Ming-chuan, the first governor of Taiwan, it connected San Chong Pu (now San Chong District) and Taipei Dadaocheng Pier. In 1895, it was referred to as Tamsui Bridge and at that time was an important transshipment port for the Dalongdong and Dadaocheng areas. On February 27, 1947, the Tianma Teahouse smuggling incident occurred, and the following day, February 28, a protest was launched, gathering and departing from the current Taipei Bridge.
