Taipei Elementary School Introduction
Originally established as Dadaocheng Public School in 1898, it was divided into two campuses in 1909 due to the construction of Taiping Town Road (now Yanping North Road). The eastern campus became Dadaocheng First Public School (now Taiping Elementary School), while the western campus is now Yongle Elementary School. Taiping Elementary School has many notable alumni, including artist Huang Tu-shui, Yang San-lang, and prominent entrepreneur Gu Zhenfu. After the 228 Incident in 1947, Taiping Elementary School served as a detention center for arrested individuals.
