Taiping Elementary School Introduction
Originally established in 1898 as Dadaocheng Public School, it was divided into two parts in 1909 due to the construction of Taiping Street (now Yanping North Road). The eastern campus became Dadaocheng First Public School (now Taiping Elementary School), while the western campus is the current Yongle Elementary School. Taiping Elementary School has notable alumni, including artist Huang Tushi, Yang Sanlang, and well-known entrepreneur Gu Zhenfu. After the February 28 Incident in 1947, Taiping Elementary School served as a detention facility for arrested individuals.
