Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey", belongs to a coastal terrain. The waters near the fishing port are close to the Kuroshio Current, which provides abundant fishing grounds, sea fishing spots, and coral resources. This results in a wide variety and frequency of activities in the area. Due to the strong excavation of the coastline to create Fugang Fishing Port, there is a striking contrast between the fishing port and the natural topography.

Fugang Fishing Port Introduction

Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey," was the first landing site for the early indigenous people from Green Island on the East Coast, who then migrated along the coastline. There are still some remnants in the nearby area. The local indigenous people continue to reside on the higher coastal terrace southwest of the current harbor area. After the establishment of Fugang Fishing Port, some residents relocated to the western coastal terrace near the fishermen, forming what was once Fugang New Village, which is predominantly inhabited by Han Chinese. Residents engaged in nearby agriculture live along the street front.
