Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey", is characterized by coastal terrain. The waters near the fishing port are adjacent to the Kuroshio Current, resulting in abundant fishing grounds, recreational fishing spots, and coral resources, leading to a variety of activities in the area. Due to the strong excavation of the coastline to create Fugang Fishing Port, there is a stark contrast between the fishing port and the natural topography.

Fu Gang Fishing Port Introduction

Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey," was the first landing point for the early indigenous people of the eastern coast who arrived from Green Island. From here, they migrated along the coastline, leaving some remains of their settlements in the surrounding area. Today, indigenous peoples still reside on the higher coastal terrace to the southwest of the current harbor area. After the construction of Fugang Fishing Port, some residents relocated to the coastal terrace on the western side of nearby fishermen, forming what was once Fugang New Village, which is predominantly inhabited by Han Chinese. Residents who relied on nearby agriculture typically lived along the streets.
