Fugang Fish Harbor Introduction

Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey," was the first stop for early indigenous people from the East Coast who landed from Green Island. They later migrated along the coastline from this location, and some archaeological sites still remain in the vicinity. Indigenous residents continue to reside on the higher coastal terrace southwest of the current port area. After the construction of Fugang Fishing Port, some residents moved to the western coastal terrace near the fishermen, forming what was once Fugang New Village, primarily inhabited by Han Chinese. Residents who relied on nearby agriculture typically lived along the street.
