Fugang Fishing Port Introduction
Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey," was the first landing site for the early indigenous people from Green Island on the East Coast, who then migrated along the coastline. There are still some remnants in the nearby area. The local indigenous people continue to reside on the higher coastal terrace southwest of the current harbor area. After the establishment of Fugang Fishing Port, some residents relocated to the western coastal terrace near the fishermen, forming what was once Fugang New Village, which is predominantly inhabited by Han Chinese. Residents engaged in nearby agriculture live along the street front.
