Fugang Fishing Port Introduction
Fugang, formerly known as "Monkey," was the first stop for the early indigenous peoples of the East Coast who migrated from Green Island. From there, they moved along the coastline, leaving behind some archaeological sites in the vicinity. The local indigenous population still resides on the higher coastal terrace southwest of the current port area. After the establishment of Fugang Fishing Port, some residents relocated to the coastal terrace west of the nearby fishermen's area, forming what used to be Fugang New Village, predominantly inhabited by Han Chinese. Residents involved in agriculture live along the streets.
