Duli Visitor Center Introduction
Duli Visitor Center serves as the headquarters for the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration and is adjacent to the Amis Cultural Center. Positioned on a hillside facing the ocean, the Duli Visitor Center offers a view of Chenggong Township and Sanxiantai to the north, and Green Island to the south. Its beautiful mountain and sea scenery uniquely represents the East Coast. It has been the venue for the annual "Moonlight Sea Music Festival" over the years, and the interior of the visitor center is very suitable for family fun. The spacious outdoor grassland is adorned with the works from the annual Earth Art Festival, creating an ideal spot for visitors to relax and experience Taitung's leisure vibe, have picnics, and enjoy the charming scenery of the East Coast. If one happens to encounter the "Moonlight Sea Music Festival," they can sit on the grass at night under the moonlight by the sea and listen to beautiful music. The current exhibition is curated by contemporary artist Rakez Dahli from Hualien Harbour, themed "Traveling in 50 Steps of Space." It showcases the process of collecting marine debris along the East Coast through various mediums such as paintings, sculptures, installations, and video works. The interactive relationship between the artworks, light, and sound conveys thoughts and concerns about global environmental issues, transforming the Duli Visitor Center into a space rich in environmental and cultural educational significance. Everyone is welcome to visit the Duli Visitor Center, and for details, please contact: 089-841520 (Duli Visitor Center Service Desk Extension 1800). On the first floor of the Duli Visitor Center, the newly launched immersive experience area, opened in December 2024, combines digital technology with local culture. Centered around "East Coast Storybook," it leads visitors to explore Amis mythology, natural ecology, and cultural values through projections and interactions that weave reality and fantasy. This clever use of technology enhances public interest in learning, perfectly merging education and entertainment, allowing people to experience the wisdom of life along the East Coast mountains and sea. The exhibition revives Amis legends through artistic forms, allowing visitors to deeply grasp the rich historical and touching charm of the cultural narrative. Students focus on exploring interactive installations and visual scenes, fully appreciating the depth and beauty of local culture, infusing fresh vitality into the Duli Visitor Center, symbolizing the continuation and transmission of East Coast culture and spirit.
