Duli Visitor Center Introduction
Duli Visitor Center serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Coast National Scenic Area Administration and is located adjacent to the Amis Folk Center. Facing the sea and surrounded by mountains, the Duli Visitor Center offers a view to the north of Chenggong Township and Sanxiantai, and to the south, Green Island. It showcases the beautiful mountainous sea scenery that is characteristic of the East Coast. Over the years, it has been the venue for the “Moonlight Sea Music Festival,” making it an ideal place for family fun. The expansive outdoor meadow is home to the installations from the annual Earth Art Festival, allowing visitors to relax and appreciate Taitung's leisurely vibe, picnic amidst the captivating views of the East Coast, and enjoy the moonlit nights while listening to beautiful music during the festival. The exhibition area is currently curated by contemporary artist Lula Delefu from Hualien Port's tribal community under the theme “Traveling in a 50-Step Space,” showcasing the accumulation of marine debris collected along the East Coast through diverse media such as paintings, sculptures, installations, and video works. The exhibition uses interactive elements with light and sound to convey thoughts and concerns about global environmental issues, transforming the Duli Visitor Center into a space rich in environmental and cultural educational significance. All are welcome to visit the Duli Visitor Center; for details, please call: 089-841520 (Duli Visitor Center service desk, extension 1800). On the first floor of the Duli Visitor Center, the newly opened immersive area as of December 2024 combines digital technology with local culture, centered around the theme of “Eastern Coast Storybook.” Through intertwining projections and interactions, visitors can explore the myths and legends of the Amis people, natural ecology, and cultural values. The integration of technology enhances the learning experience, perfectly blending education and entertainment, allowing the public to appreciate the wisdom of life along the East Coast’s mountains and seas. The exhibition recreates Amis legends through artistic forms, enabling visitors to deeply feel the profoundness of culture and the moving charm of life stories. Students are engaged in exploring interactive devices and visual scenes, fully experiencing the depth and beauty of local culture, injecting fresh vitality into the Duli Visitor Center and symbolizing the continuation and inheritance of East Coast culture and spirit.
