Duli Visitor Center Introduction
Duli Visitor Center is the headquarters of the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration and is adjacent to the Amis Cultural Center. Situated facing the sea, the Duli Visitor Center offers a northern view of Chenggong Township and Sanxiantai, and to the south, one can see Green Island. The beautiful mountain and sea scenery is representative of the East Coast and has been the venue for the "Moonlight Sea Music Festival" over the years. The interior of the visitor center is very suitable for family fun. The spacious outdoor lawn is adorned with artworks from the annual Earth Art Festival, and against the backdrop of greenery and the ocean, it is not only a place to sit and experience the leisurely pace of Taitung, but also a great spot for picnics to enjoy the charming scenery of the East Coast. If you happen to catch the "Moonlight Sea Music Festival," you can sit on the grass at night, bask in the moonlight by the sea, and listen to beautiful music. Currently, the exhibition area is curated by contemporary artist Laha Matsu of Hualien Port community, themed "Traveling in a Space of 50 Steps." The exhibition showcases the long-term process of collecting marine debris along the East Coast through diverse media artworks, sculptures, installations, and video works. It interacts with light and sound to convey thoughts and concerns about global environmental issues, transforming the Duli Visitor Center into a venue rich in environmental and cultural educational significance. Visitors are welcome to Duli Visitor Center, for more details please call: 089-841520 (Duli Visitor Center Service Desk extension 1800). On the first floor of the Duli Visitor Center, the newly opened immersive area in December 2024 combines digital technology with local culture, centered around the "East Coast Storybook." Through a blend of virtual and real projections and interactions, it leads the public to explore the myths, natural ecology, and cultural values of the Amis people. It cleverly uses technology to enhance learning enjoyment, perfectly integrating education and entertainment, allowing the public to appreciate the wisdom of life by the mountains and seas of the East Coast. The exhibition recreates Amis legends through art forms, allowing visitors to deeply feel the long-standing cultural heritage and the captivating stories of life. Students focus on exploring interactive devices and visual scenes, fully experiencing the depth and aesthetics of local culture, injecting new vitality into the Duli Visitor Center and symbolizing the continuity and transmission of East Coast culture and spirit.
