Duli Visitor Center Introduction
Duli Visitor Center serves as the headquarters of the East Coast National Scenic Area Management Office and is located adjacent to the Amis Folk Center. Positioned on the mountainside facing the sea, the Duli Visitor Center offers a northern view of Chenggong Township and Sanxiantai, and a southern view of Green Island. With its beautiful mountain and sea scenery, it is representative of the East Coast, and has been the venue for the "Moonlight Sea Music Festival" over the years. The interior of the visitor center is very suitable for family fun. The spacious outdoor grassy area is dotted with artworks from the annual Earth Art Festival, set against the backdrop of green fields and the ocean. It is not only a place to relax and experience Taitung's leisurely pace but also a great spot for picnics, allowing visitors to enjoy the charming views of the East Coast. If you happen to be there during the "Moonlight Sea Music Festival," you can sit on the grass at night, accompanied by the moonlight over the sea, while listening to beautiful music. The exhibition area is currently curated by contemporary artist Lahezi Dalifu from the Hualien Port tribe, with the theme "Traveling in a 50-Step Space." This exhibition showcases the process of collecting marine debris along the East Coast through diverse media such as paintings, sculptures, installations, and videos. By interacting works with light and sound, the exhibition conveys thoughts and concerns about global environmental issues, transforming the Duli Visitor Center into a space rich in environmental and cultural educational significance. Everyone is welcome to visit the Duli Visitor Center. For more details, please contact: 089-841520 (Duli Visitor Center Service Desk extension 1800). On the first floor of the Duli Visitor Center, the newly opened immersive experience area, launched in December 2024, combines digital technology with local culture, centered around the theme "East Coast Storybook." Through the intertwining of virtual and real projections and interactions, visitors are led to explore the myths, natural ecology, and cultural values of the Amis people. The clever use of technology enhances the learning experience, perfectly blending education and entertainment, allowing the public to feel the wisdom of mountain and sea life on the East Coast. The exhibition uses artistic forms to recreate Amis legends, allowing visitors to deeply appreciate the rich cultural heritage and captivating life stories. Students are focused on exploring interactive installations and visual scenes, fully experiencing the depth and beauty of local culture, injecting new vitality into the Duli Visitor Center, symbolizing the continuation and transmission of East Coast culture and spirit.
