Xibulan Visitor Center (New Pacific No. 1 Store) Introduction
The limestone blocks in the riverbed of Xiuguluan River have been shaped by years of erosion, exhibiting various forms and a pure white color, thus earning the beautiful name "Xiuguluan Shuoyu." The exterior of the exquisite Xibulan Visitor Center is designed based on the concept of Xiuguluan Shuoyu, painted with pure white imitation stone material and featuring aluminum grilles that create sunshade panels resembling the shape of Xiuguluan Shuoyu. This design is distinct from the traditional sloped roof style and attracts the attention of travelers with its striking appearance. After renovations, the new "Pacific No. 1 Store" officially opened at the original Xibulan Visitor Center, run by the Yabis team, which has deep roots along the East Coast. They invited outstanding young designer Hsieh Sheng-Hua from the Paiwan tribe of Taitung to draw inspiration from tribal elements and incorporate warm wooden designs. In addition to providing the original functions of the visitor center, it has added a bookstore and a café, showcasing fine tribal handicrafts to allow visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee, browse books, or purchase crafts from the tribe. The Xibulan Visitor Center also hosts various activities, such as markets, good book readings, and dinner pop-up events, continuing to explore local stories from the East Coast and sparking more creativity. It serves as a communication base for the East Coast to connect with the world, conveying a new Pacific lifestyle unique to the tribes of the East Coast. This is not only a home for volunteers on working holiday programs but also a great rest stop for travelers. If passing by, don't forget to come in, sit down, and experience the charm of the East Coast tribes!
