Xiplan Visitor Center (New Pacific No. 1 Store) Introduction
The limestone blocks in the bed of the Xiuguluan River have been sculpted by years of erosion, presenting various forms and a pure white appearance, thus earning the beautiful name "Xiuguluan Shuyulu." The exterior of the Xibulan Visitor Center, designed with the concept of Xiuguluan Shuyulu, is coated with pure white imitation stone material. The aluminum louver structures mimic the shape of Xiuguluan Shuyulu, deviating from the traditional sloped roof style, creating a striking appearance that attracts the attention of travelers. After its design transformation, the "New Pacific No. 1 Store" grandly opened at the original Xibulan Visitor Center, hosted by the Yabis team who have long been engaged in the East Coast. They invited outstanding young designer Hsieh Sheng-hua from the Paiwan tribe in Taitung to draw inspiration from tribal elements, featuring warm wooden designs. In addition to maintaining the original functions of the visitor center, it now includes a bookstore and café, showcasing exquisite tribal handicrafts, allowing visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee, browse books, or purchase tribal crafts. The Xibulan Visitor Center has also launched markets, reading sessions, and pop-up dining events, continuing to explore local stories of the East Coast and inspire more creativity. Serving as a communication base for the East Coast, it conveys the New Pacific lifestyle belonging to the East Coast tribes. This is not only a home for volunteer friends from the tribal work holiday program but also a great resting spot for travelers. If you pass by, don't forget to stop in, relax, and experience the charm of the East Coast tribes!
