Xibulan Visitor Center (New Pacific No. 1 Store) Introduction
The limestone blocks in the riverbed of the Xiuguluan River have been shaped by years of erosion from the water, resulting in various forms that are as white as jade, earning the beautiful name "Xiuguluan Shuyulu." The exterior of the Xiuguluan Visitor Center, designed with the concept of "Xiuguluan Shuyulu," is painted with pure white faux stone material. It features aluminum grilles woven into the shape of a sunshade resembling Xiuguluan Shuyulu, distinct from the traditional slanted roof style, making it an eye-catching design that attracts travelers. After the renovation, the new "New Pacific No. 1 Store" has been grandly inaugurated at the original Xiuguluan Visitor Center. The Yabis team, which has been deeply rooted in the East Coast for many years, has set up shop here. They invited outstanding young designer Hsieh Sheng-Hua from the Paiwan tribe in Taitung to incorporate tribal elements into the design using warm wooden materials. This not only retains the original functions of the visitor center but also adds a bookstore and café, showcasing exquisite tribal crafts, allowing visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee, read books, or purchase tribal crafts at their leisure. The Xiuguluan Visitor Center also continuously organizes markets, good book readings, and pop-up dinner plans to explore the local stories of the East Coast, sparking more creativity, and serving as an exchange base for the East Coast to connect with the world, conveying a new Pacific lifestyle belonging to the tribes of the East Coast. This is not only a home for volunteers on working holidays in the tribe but also a great resting spot for tourists. If you pass by, don't forget to come in, sit down, and experience the charm of the East Coast tribes!
