Xibulan Visitor Center (New Pacific No. 1 Store) Introduction
The limestone blocks in the riverbed of Xiuguluan River have been sculpted by years of erosion, taking on various shapes and appearing as white as jade, thus earning the beautiful name "Xiuguluan Bathing Jade." The exterior of the Xibulan Visitor Center, which is designed with the concept of Xiuguluan Bathing Jade, is coated with pure white imitation stone paint, featuring aluminum grilles woven into a sunshade shape reminiscent of Xiuguluan Bathing Jade. This design is different from the traditional sloped roof style, and its eye-catching appearance attracts the attention of travelers. After the design transformation, the new "Pacific No. 1 Store" was grandly opened at the original Xibulan Visitor Center. The Abis team, which has long been rooted in the East Coast, collaborated with outstanding designer Hsieh Sheng-hua from the Puyuma tribe in Taitung to incorporate tribal elements into the design using warm wooden materials. Besides providing the original functions of the visitor center, it now includes a bookstore and coffee shop, showcasing exquisite tribal handicrafts, allowing visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee while resting, reading, or purchasing tribal crafts. The Xibulan Visitor Center also continues to launch activities such as markets, good book readings, and pop-up dinner plans, further exploring local stories from the East Coast and sparking more creativity, serving as a communication base for the East Coast towards the world, and conveying the new Pacific lifestyle belonging to the tribes of the East Coast. This is not only a home for volunteer friends from the tribal working holiday program but also a great resting spot for tourists. If you pass by, don’t forget to stop in, take a seat, and experience the charm of the East Coast tribes!
