Chung-Guang Village Lingxiao Pagoda Introduction

Shigandang Overview: Structure Type: Tower-shaped Form: Conical Total Height: 6.04m Circumference: 18.5m Top Ornament: Gourd Before the construction of the cross-sea bridge, the geographical area between Tongliang and Xiyu was commonly referred to as "Houmen." In terms of the environment, it appeared as if the seawater would rush straight into the village. The western end of Chongguang Li, known as Caozaitou, used to be part of Magong's first cemetery. Thus, the deity Wang Ye of the Weiling Palace instructed the construction of a tower to counteract the geographical flaw, naming it "Lingxiao Pagoda." The gourd at the top of the tower faces all directions and, together with the "Zhangshui Divine Stone Tablet" located between the Riwan Pool and the Yuewan Pool, protects the entire village. Source: Oral tradition from local elders of Chongguang Li.
