Longmen Lockdown Position Introduction
Longmen Blockhouse, the site is generally divided into two areas. The external area is a landscape facility park, mainly including market shops, public toilets, a visitor service center, and a parking lot. The internal area is the Lizhengjiao Blockhouse; due to its military value, defensive works were established around it during the late Japanese occupation. In 1961, the Army's 1357th unit, under the direction of President Chiang, constructed the "Lizhengjiao Blockhouse." Upon completion, it included two anti-aircraft bunkers, seven machine gun bunkers, one observation post, two personnel shelters, one ammunition shelter, and one water reservoir, interconnected by a 705-meter-long covered trench, with an additional 310-meter-long anti-tank trench on the east side. Subsequent renovations were made in response to usage needs, with the original observation post being expanded to the rear around 1989, and a radar station building added in 1991. This blockhouse witnesses the military defense history of Penghu, and visitors can experience the unique atmosphere of being within a defensive structure.
