Wangfu Stone Introduction
Chipi Island, due to the dangerous and arduous work of fishing men on the island, was once nicknamed the "Widows' Island." According to legend, a loving couple lived near the Husband-Watching Rock. One day, the husband went out to sea to fish and did not return for a long time. The wife waited alone by the shore day after day until she could no longer withstand hunger and cold, ultimately passing away. Later, she was buried by the sea, and the stone coast weathered into a shape resembling a woman lying on her back, complete with hair, body, feet, and a pregnant belly. Thus, the legend of the Husband-Watching Rock spread. Visitors can not only enjoy the scenic view from the Husband-Watching Rock but also cross the stone bridge over its belly to reach the tidal pools. In these small tidal pools, little fish and crabs play, creating a natural ecology classroom. However, it is important to pay attention to the tidal periods to avoid accidents.
