Shuanglong Waterfall Rainbow Bridge Introduction
Shuanglong Waterfall Park (Opened to visitors for self-driving vehicles on January 1, 2025) is located southeast of Shuanglong Village. It features both upper and lower waterfalls and is named for their resemblance to two dragons in the sky. It takes about 60 minutes to reach Shuanglong Waterfall from the Catholic Church, with beautiful views of Shuanglong settlement and terraced fields along the way. The trail leading to the waterfall is lined with cherry and plum trees, and during the blooming season, the faint fragrance of flowers wafts through the air, alleviating the fatigue of the journey. The Shuanglong Rainbow Suspension Bridge, opened in 2020, spans 342 meters in length and reaches a depth of 110 meters, making it the longest and deepest suspension bridge in Taiwan. It crosses a majestic valley and offers a challenging experience with its complete circular trail and viewing platforms, perfect for exploring the beauty of the forest and the indigenous village. The water source suspension bridge is designated for transporting drinking water and is accessible only to maintenance personnel; the general public is prohibited from approaching. There is also a rushing water channel that, while not wide, has a strong current and is critical for irrigation for the entire village. The beautiful source of Shuanglong Waterfall is vital for the livelihood of the entire community. As you transition into the lower waterfall area of the gorge, known as the "Black Forest," the roar of the waterfall grows from soft to loud. You can admire the powerful water cascading down the mountainside and enjoy the coolness brought by the mist, washing away the dust of the mundane world. After visiting Shuanglong Waterfall, you may feel like "a lively dragon" yourself. Note: The old water source suspension bridge is designated for inspection and maintenance workers only; visitors please refrain from entering!
