Zhengde Buddha Introduction
The Zhengde Puli Giant Buddha is the tallest outdoor gilded Amitabha Buddha in the world, weighing 1,230 tons, standing 170 feet tall, and covering an area of 240 ping. The statue itself is made of bronze and weighs 320 tons, with a steel framework of 910 tons, and it is composed of 808 bronze plates, featuring 396 spiral hair buns. It is located in the Puli mountain area, known for its pleasant scenery and favorable climate, surrounded by overlapping peaks. The entire site was personally planned and designed by Master Chang Lu, the founding abbot. The architecture follows a Japanese style, exuding an ancient, elegant charm. In addition, the comprehensive facilities around the Giant Buddha will serve a diverse educational purpose, attracting more people to engage with Buddhism and find peace for their body and mind.
