Zhengde Buddha Introduction
The Zhengde Puli Giant Buddha is the tallest outdoor gilded Amitabha Buddha in the world, weighing a total of 1,230 tons, standing at 170 feet high, and covering an area of 240 ping. The Buddha statue itself is made of bronze, weighing 320 tons, with a steel frame of 910 tons, composed of 808 bronze plates and featuring 396 hair curls. It is located in the scenic and temperate Puli mountain area, characterized by its overlapping peaks. The entire construction was planned and designed by the founder, Master Chang Lu, who also serves as the temple’s abbot. The architectural style is Japanese, exuding an antique elegance. In addition, the various facilities around the Giant Buddha are designed to provide diverse educational functions, attracting more people to connect with Buddhism and find peace of body and mind.
