The original meaning of Quas in Bunun language is Zeikudaing, which means "big bend." The name in Mandarin is "土虱灣" (Tu Shih Wan). The flow of the Zhuoshui River circulates here, forming a large bay surrounded by peaks at a 180-degree angle due to its passage through the canyon, hence the name, presenting a unique natural landscape.
