Quas, in the Bunun language, means Zeikudaing, which translates to "big bend". The Chinese name is "土虱灣" (Tǔshīwān). The flow of the Zhuoshui River twists here, forming a large bay surrounded by 180-degree peaks as it traverses the gorge, hence the name. The natural scenery is quite unique.
