Shuishan Mountain Trail Introduction
⚠️Temporarily closed due to weather damage, not yet open⚠️ The Water社大山 Trail entrance is located next to the Sun Moon Lake Youth Activity Center restaurant. The total length is 5.6 km, with the first 1.6 km consisting of stone steps, followed by a natural trail. The overall elevation gain is 1,300 meters, and the round trip takes about 8 hours, requiring full preparation and stamina. At the summit, hikers can overlook Sun Moon Lake and enjoy the view of the Central Mountain Range. Due to the high elevation, the vegetation along the trail varies from low-elevation broadleaf forests to mid-elevation coniferous and broadleaf mixed forests, rich and diverse. It is an excellent route for observing birds, insects, and animal ecology.
