Shuishah Mountain Trail Introduction
The Shui She Mountain Trail has two entrances. The northern entrance is located next to the parking lot for large buses at the Youth Activity Center, with a stone platform marking the starting point of the trail. The southern entrance is within the Dehua Shawan Indigenous Community, where the stone carving symbolizes the starting point of the trail. The trail rises 1,300 meters in elevation, making it a physically demanding hiking route. At the summit, hikers can overlook Sun Moon Lake and enjoy the scenery of the Central Mountain Range. Due to the significant change in elevation, the vegetation along the trail ranges from low-elevation broadleaf forests to mid-elevation mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests, providing varied and rich ecosystems, making it an excellent path for ecological observation. For those with limited time, after reaching the trailhead, it is possible to descend via a circular route, passing through interconnected wooden walkways to reach either the southern or northern entrance in about two hours, which is a more popular option.
