NTU Forest and Recreation Research Center Internship Factory Introduction
Shuili Township was once a stronghold of the timber industry in Taiwan. In 1958, the Experimental Forest of National Taiwan University established a timber utilization training factory in Shuili, aimed at providing a practical training site for students of the forestry department, which includes experimental research, log processing, wood furniture development, and production of wooden products. In 2009, to display the results of product creation, the Wood Utilization and Product Exhibition Center was established, highlighting the unique significance of Shuili Township in the history of Taiwan's timber industry. This also provides another resting point for tourists along the travel route of Sun Moon Lake, following Checheng and Shebia.
