NTU Forest Management Office Internship Factory Introduction
Shuili Township was once a major hub for the timber industry in Taiwan. In 1958, the Forestry Experimental Station of National Taiwan University established a timber utilization training factory in Shuili, aimed at providing students from the NTU Forestry Department with a practical location for experimental research, log processing, development of wooden furniture, and production of wooden products. In 2009, to showcase the achievements of product manufacturing, the Timber Utilization and Product Exhibition Center was established, highlighting the unique significance of Shuili Township in the history of Taiwan's timber development. It also provides tourists with another resting point along the travel route around Sun Moon Lake, following Checheng and Shebake.
