Shuili Bicycle Path - Shuili Riverside Line Introduction
The Shuili River originates from the mountainous areas surrounding Sun Moon Lake, Touse, Chonggui, and Wucheng. The river valley is accessible via the Jiji Line railway to Checheng, known as the Secret Garden. Checheng was once a significant hub for Taiwan's timber manufacturing industry. A bike path runs along the west bank of the Shuili River, connecting upstream to Checheng and downstream to Shuiyun Bridge and Shuili Riverside Park, covering a total distance of about 4 kilometers with a gentle slope along the urban waterfront. The route toward Checheng poses a slight challenge, but riding a bicycle allows visitors to enjoy the traditional timber industry of Checheng, the scenic views along the Shuili River, and experience the simple, local life of Shuili.
