Shuili Bicycle Path - Shuili Waterside Line Introduction
Shuili River originates from the mountainous areas of Sun Moon Lake, Toushe, Chonggui, and Wucheng basins. The valley is accessible by the Jiji Railway to the secret garden of Checheng. Checheng was once a major hub for Taiwan's timber industry. The bike path runs along the western bank of Shuili River upstream to Checheng and downstream to Shuiyun Bridge and Shuili Riverside Park, covering a total distance of about 4 kilometers with gentle slopes along the urban waterfront. Riding towards Checheng presents a slight challenge, but cyclists can enjoy the traditional wood industry of Checheng, the scenery along Shuili River, and experience the simple local life in Shuili.
