Monkey Mountain Sky Bridge Introduction
Monkey Explore Well Recreational Area, located in Fushan Village, Nantou City, is a famous attraction in the Bagua Mountain Scenic Area. The valley terrain resembles a well, and in front of the valley, there is a small hill that looks like a monkey crouching down to gaze into the well, thus the name "Monkey Explore Well." The Bagua Mountain Range spans Nantou and Changhua, with two hiking trails above; one connects to a viewing pavilion in the tea plantation, while the other leads to a viewing platform at Monkey Explore Well. Originally, there was a valley between the two, but now the Sky Bridge connects them, making it more convenient and becoming a highlight of the recreational area. The park features beautiful garden trails and landscaped corridors, with a viewing tower at the end of the park offering a distant view of the beautiful scenery of Changhua Plain; there is a well in the tower, allowing visitors to experience the ambiance of monkeys exploring the well. The Sky Bridge spans the valley of Monkey Explore Well on both sides, making it the longest sky ladder in Taiwan and the first ladder suspension bridge in the country, measuring 204 meters in total, with 265 steps and a height difference of 5.65 meters between both ends. The bridge can accommodate up to 150 people, providing excellent views of the Changhua Plain; on clear days, it is possible to see the Xiluo Bridge and the mouth of the Zhuoshui River, offering a panoramic view of the scenic beauty. As the sun sets, the Sky Bridge transforms, with LED lights automatically illuminating it. From a distance, it appears as a smile hanging over the gloomy mountains, which is why it is also nicknamed the "Smiling Sky Ladder." On the other side of the suspension bridge, there is a scenic platform; although it is not located at the highest point, it is still an excellent spot for watching sunsets. The Monkey Explore Well Recreational Area is also known as "Sunset Valley," and if your visit happens to coincide with the sunset, be sure to find a good spot, pause, and enjoy the golden beauty cast by the afterglow. Besides the famous characteristic sky ladder attracting crowds, the recreational area is also equipped with parking lots and a visitor service center, making travel to this destination more convenient.
