Living Sock Town Museum Introduction

The entrance design of Lohas Sock Town features an entire building in a colorful Italian architectural style, showcasing vibrancy and innovation like a rainbow. In the town of Shetou, this building has become a landmark, visible from the east side of the HSR, and is regarded as the most beautiful colorful building in Shetou. Inside the exhibition hall, there are detailed visual and textual introductions, including the history of socks, the company's evolution, and rich sock-related knowledge. There is also a video area with dynamic explanations to help visitors understand more easily.
Shetou Township is famous for its abundance of guavas, socks, and chairmen, which is closely related to the sock knitting industry. Since the introduction of the first hand-operated sock knitting machine in the 1940s, following the closure of large factories, family-run factories have emerged, leading to a clustering effect as sock factories from northern Taiwan moved south, earning Shetou Township the title of "Sock Kingdom."
Shetou Township in Changhua County is the birthplace of sock knitting, with seven out of every ten pairs of socks in Taiwan coming from Shetou. The "Sock Kingdom of Leisure" is the first sock tourism factory in Taiwan, featuring an exclusive patented tagging machine and a hand-crafted alignment technique that produces high-quality socks. The factory tour route is divided into two floors; the first floor includes a product sales area, a DIY experience area, and a processing observation area, while the second floor serves as an introduction and guided tour area, aiming to promote Taiwan's high-quality socks both domestically and internationally.
