Fong Po Plaza Introduction
The entrance of Fengbai Plaza in Ershui, Changhua, features a parking lot, restrooms, a stage, and children's recreational facilities, along with stone tables for resting. The surrounding area is rich in ecology, with multiple nearby trails such as the Miao Qian Keng Trail, Keng Nei Keng Trail, and the popular Ershui Deng Miao Trail. Common sightings include various bird species, butterflies, and wild macaques, making it a suitable destination for family outings and ecological observation trips. There are reminders throughout Fengbai Plaza advising visitors not to feed the wildlife. Feeding behavior not only causes macaques to lose their foraging abilities but also leads to aggressive food-seeking behaviors. To maintain the natural environment and the macaques’ original way of life, it is important to adhere to the three conservation principles: "Do not feed, do not touch, do not disturb." Keeping a proper distance while observing the macaques is a way to protect both parties. For a leisurely hike in Ershui, it is recommended to park at Fengbai Plaza and walk the Deng Miao Trail to Shoutian Palace. Along the way, you can appreciate the history of the local agricultural activities and the hard work of carrying produce from the mountaintop people of Songbai. The Deng Miao Trail is approximately 2.1 kilometers long, with a mixture of asphalt and stairs, generally flat until the last section with steep steps leading up to Shoutian Palace nearby. After visiting the temple, you can also explore the century-old tea street and experience the charm of Songbai Changqing tea.
