Yuantan Eco Park Introduction
Located at 71.5K on County Road 166, near the Rui Li No. 1 Bridge. The park features clear water and a serene natural environment, where one can see wildlife such as birds, butterflies, beetles, fireflies, and frogs. It is a green trail that combines ecology and leisure. The pathways in the park are primarily made of wooden planks and stone walls. The circular mountain trail not only includes wooden walkways but also smooth, wooden-step paths, offering excellent scenery. The Yuan Tan Stream flows through layers of sandstone and shale; due to its well-developed joints, there are multiple levels of waterfalls, plunge pools, towering cliffs, narrow canyons, and steep slopes, making it the best location to observe mid-elevation valley landscapes. Additionally, the environment is rich in moisture and humidity, suitable for moisture-loving epiphytic plants to thrive. Common trees include Taiwan camphor, fragrant leaf trees, mountain magnolia, and Formosan sweetgum, with epiphytic plants like mountain ferns and cliff ginger ferns. The unique topography and environmental conditions weave together an incredibly rich ecological system in this park.
