Yuantan Eco Park Introduction
Located at 71.5K on County Road 166, near the Rui Li No. 1 Bridge. The park features clear water and a tranquil natural environment, home to wildlife such as birds, butterflies, beetles, fireflies, and frogs, making it a green trail that combines ecology and leisure. The trails in the park consist mainly of wooden paths and stone walls. The circular mountain trail, in addition to the wooden paths, also features stable and easy-to-walk simulated wooden step trails with excellent scenery. The Yuan Tan Stream flows through a geological formation of sandstone and shale interlayers, notable for its well-developed joints that form multiple-tiered waterfalls, potholes, towering cliffs, narrow valleys, and steep slopes, making it the best location to observe mid-elevation valley landscapes. Furthermore, its environment is rich in moisture with extremely high humidity, suitable for the growth of moisture-loving epiphytic plants. Common tree species include Cinnamomum kanehirae, Machilus thunbergii, Syzygium buxifolium, and Taiwan mulberry. Epiphytic plants include Asplenium montanum and Hedychium coronarium. The unique topography and environmental conditions create an incredibly rich ecosystem in this park.
