Yuantan Ecological Park Introduction
Located at 71.5K on County Road 166, near Ruili No. 1 Bridge. The park's water is clear, and the environment is tranquil and natural, where one can observe wild birds, butterflies, beetles, fireflies, and frogs. It is a green trail that combines ecology and leisure. The trails in the park consist mainly of wooden planks and stone walls. The mountain trail not only features wooden paths but also stable wooden-step pathways, offering excellent scenery. The Yuan Tan Stream flows through strata of sandstone and shale interbedding, characterized by well-developed joints, resulting in multiple tiered waterfalls, pot holes, towering cliffs, narrow valleys, and steep gradients, making it the best location to observe mid-altitude valley landscapes. Additionally, the environment is rich in moisture and high in humidity, making it suitable for moisture-loving epiphytic plants to thrive. Common trees include giant leaf bay, fragrant leaf tree, mountain sweet-scented osmanthus, and Taiwan hackberry, while the epiphytic plants include mountain fern and cliff ginger fern. The unique topography and environmental conditions weave together an incredibly rich ecosystem in this park.
