Green Tunnel Introduction
This beautiful agricultural road is a vital artery for sustaining local industries and is also a popular hiking route in Ruili. It has served as a scene in martial arts films and is an important venue for the bamboo tea parties held in Ruili. Starting from the southwest end, after passing through a couple of bends, you will arrive at the main section at an elevation between 1,100 and 1,150 meters above sea level. If this journey were to be likened to a suite, the bordering bamboo groves along with the preceding vegetable plots, tea plantations, and peach and plum trees would serve as an enchanting overture. During this section, birds such as the Taiwan thrush and the gray-cheeked fulvetta sing cheerfully, drawn not only by the abundance of insects found under the bamboo but also seemingly reveling in the beauty of this mountainous landscape. After the opening section, the scenery shifts to a lush sea of bamboo. On both sides of the road, thick bamboo groves arch graciously, creating a green tunnel. Sitting by the roadside to take a brief rest, you can hear the gentle rustle of the breeze; under the bamboo shade, common understory plants such as Begonia grandis from the Alishan area showcase vibrant vitality. Subsequently, you arrive at the viewing pavilion at the end of the agricultural road, next to a path connecting to the "Yejinghua River Trail." The stone steps extending upward from the back lead through a patch of golden bamboo before reaching the entrance to County Road 166 at the 81-kilometer mark, as well as the nearby Ruitai Ancient Trail trailhead.
