Green Tunnel Introduction
This beautiful agricultural road is a vital artery for the industry and also a popular hiking route in Ruijili. It was once a filming location for martial arts movies and an important venue for the bamboo forest tea ceremony in Ruijili. Entering from the southwestern end, after passing through a couple of turns, you arrive at the main section between the elevations of 1,100 and 1,150 meters. If this journey were to be likened to a suite, the edges of the bamboo forest, along with the vegetable plots, tea gardens, and peach and plum trees in the earlier sections, serve as an enchanting overture. During this walk, the calls of the Formosan Whistling Thrush and the Short-billed Bush Warbler can be heard, attracted by the numerous insects in the bamboo groves, as if they are reveling in the beauty of this mountainous area. After the opening segment, the scene shifts to a lush green bamboo sea. On either side of the road, dense bamboo groves arch together like a green tunnel. Taking a moment to rest by the roadside, you can hear the gentle rustling of the breeze; beneath the bamboo shade, common forest plants like the Begonia grandis can be seen, showcasing vibrant life. Eventually, you reach the viewing pavilion at the end of the agricultural road, where there is a connecting path to the "Wild Ginger Flower Stream Trail." The stone steps extending upward from the back lead through a grove of bamboo and reach the entrance to County Route 166 at the 81-kilometer mark, as well as the nearby Ruitai Ancient Trail trailhead.
