"The Taiwan Salt Museum has been closed for renovations since January 10, 2022." The Taiwan Salt Museum is the only themed museum in Taiwan dedicated to the salt industry, preserving hundreds of years of salt culture heritage in Taiwan. "Salt" is the crystallization of the sweat and tears of salt workers, and the unique appearance shaped like salt piles makes it particularly distinctive, resembling two white pyramids standing in the salt fields from a distance. To the east of the museum is the Guangying Stalactite Museum, to the north are the salt worker residential areas, and to the west are the abandoned mechanical salt fields, with a distant view of the Qigu Salt Mountain. Upon entering the lobby, the first sight that greets visitors is a replica of the beautiful scenery of the salt fields of yesteryears, allowing one to return to the living conditions of the salt fields in the 1950s and 60s, experiencing the bittersweet life of salt workers. The second floor of the museum is a historical snapshot of the development of Taiwan's salt industry, featuring oral stories from local elders and salt workers, displays of yellowed old photographs, and various interesting uses of salt related to daily life, making it a great place for children to explore; in addition to learning about salt, the museum also offers a variety of salt products and salt coffee, which are special tastes not to be missed!
