"The Taiwan Salt Museum has been closed for renovations since January 10, 2022." The Taiwan Salt Museum is the only themed museum related to the salt industry in Taiwan, preserving hundreds of years of cultural heritage related to salt production. "Salt" is the crystallization of the salt workers' sweat and tears, and its pile-like appearance is particularly distinctive, appearing like two white pyramids standing in the salt fields from a distance. To the east of the museum is the Guangying Stalactite Museum, with residential areas for salt workers to the north, and abandoned mechanical salt fields to the west, which overlook the Qigu Salt Mountain. Upon entering the hall, visitors are immediately greeted by a replica of the picturesque salt fields of the past, bringing them back to the salt field life of the 1950s and 1960s, allowing them to experience the bittersweet life of salt workers. The second floor of the museum showcases a historical snapshot of the development of Taiwan's salt industry, featuring oral stories from local elders and salt workers, displays of yellowed old photographs, and the various ingenious uses of salt in daily life, which are very suitable for children to explore. In addition to learning about salt knowledge, the museum also offers various salt products and salt coffee, which are special flavors not to be missed! To the east of the Salt Museum is the Guangying Stalactite Museum, to the north is the Salt Workers’ Residential Area, and to the west are the abandoned mechanical salt fields, with a distant view of the Qigu Salt Mountain. Upon entering the hall, the first thing that catches the eye is a replica of the beautiful landscape of the salt fields from back then, transporting people back to the salt field life of the 1950s and 1960s, allowing them to experience the bittersweet life of salt workers. The second floor of the museum is a microcosm of the history of Taiwan's salt culture development, featuring oral stories from local elders and salt workers, displays of yellowed old photos, and various uses of salt related to daily life, making it an excellent exploration opportunity for children.
