Taichung City Library Shangfeng Branch Introduction
The Shangfeng Branch Library is Taichung City's first library themed around "environmental education," and it has received accolades such as the "Architectural Excellence Award" and the "Excellence Award" in the Best Planning and Design category of the National Excellent Construction Award in 2019. Located next to Shangfeng Elementary School, the library features a red brick exterior that echoes the nearby golden wheat fields and autumn leaves. It includes ecological grass ditches, native plants, and an open design that connects internal and external spaces, seamlessly integrating with the school and community, creating a beautiful place where people and nature coexist. The library's outdoor area boasts a diverse ecological landscape, with plantings of forage and nectar plants that attract butterflies and bees, making it an excellent environment for promoting environmental education. The interior design of the library adopts a simple and understated style to enhance spatial quality, complemented by lightweight and neutral furniture and decor.
