Taichung Public Library Shangfeng Branch Introduction
The Shangfeng Branch Library is Taichung City's first library themed around "environmental education." It has also won the "Construction and Planning Award" and the "Excellence Award" in the Best Planning and Design category at the National Outstanding Construction Awards in 2019. Located next to Shangfeng Elementary School, the library features a red brick exterior that reflects the nearby golden wheat fields and the red maple leaves. The design includes ecological grass ditches, native plantings, and an open spatial layout that seamlessly connects the interior and exterior, creating a beautiful place where people and nature coexist in harmony. The library's outdoor area boasts a diverse ecological landscape, with the planting of herbaceous and nectar plants to attract butterflies and bees, making it an excellent venue for promoting environmental education. The interior design of the library adopts a simple and understated approach to enhance the spatial quality, complemented by lightweight, neutral furniture and decor.
