Lungsheng Wood Fossil Museum Introduction

The Petrified Wood Museum showcases over thirty varieties of floral gems, each with a billion-year history, world-class treasures awaiting your appreciation. These fossils are products of volcanic eruptions that occurred over a hundred million years ago, where trees, animals, and mollusks were buried by lava from eruptions. They transformed into fossils under extremely high temperature and low pressure conditions. Some have integrated volcanic materials, and through high heat physical and chemical changes, turned into translucent jade. Experts at the museum indicate that the probability of finding such petrified wood is one in a million, meaning that for every million trees buried by volcanic materials, only one becomes a fossil, and petrified jade is even rarer. The Petrified Wood Exhibition Hall is located within the Long Sheng Garden Material Co. on Minsheng Road, Tiaotou Highway, covering an area of 500 pings, housing over 3,000 unique petrified woods and gemstones, each over a hundred million years old. There are complete tree trunks, fossils that appear to still be growing, and stones with over thirty different colors, splendidly variegated. The museum also features a sales area where visitors can purchase their favorite fossils, with cleaning fees redeemable against purchases.
