Penglai Tribe Introduction
Formerly known as Hongmao Pavilion, it was named because the Dutch once resided here. After Taiwan's retrocession, it was renamed as Penglai, merging the flatland settlement with nearby indigenous tribes to form Penglai Village, a settlement that integrates Hakka and Saisiyat cultures, making it rich in cultural characteristics. Due to the concentrated population and sweet water quality, there are many grocery stores, trout farms, cafes, restaurants, and homestays. The traditional rituals of the Saisiyat people, such as the Pas-ta'ai, the Prayer to Heaven, the Ancestor worship, and the Hakka San-shan Guo-wang Temple Festival, are all rich in folk customs.
