Xianshan Lingdong Temple Introduction
The main deity worshipped here is Guan Yu, and the temple enjoys a prosperous incense offering, shrouded year-round in a light mist. The clouds often linger between the mountains, creating an ethereal atmosphere reminiscent of a fairyland. Lingdong Palace features splendid architecture with intricate carvings and paintings. Xianshan is located at the junction of Shitan and Nanzhuang Townships, at an elevation of 967 meters. Originally named Hongmaoguan Mountain, it was renamed Xianshan due to the legend of a spring within the mountain that is said to cure all ailments, known as Xianshui. Lingdong Palace is situated on the hills of Xianshan, divided into upper and lower levels, with the upper level dedicated to the Jade Emperor and the lower level honoring the Eastern Eminence and other deities. Xianshui can be found beside Xieling Palace, directly behind Lingdong Palace; a small flight of steps leads you to a small pavilion where the Xianshui can be accessed. The trailhead for Xianshan is to the left of Xieling Palace, and it takes about half an hour to reach the base. Xianshan stands at approximately one thousand meters, nestled between Hongwei Mountain and Bagua Ridge, renowned for its healing waters that attract visitors from afar. There are many miraculous legends surrounding Xianshui, and Lingdong Palace is elegantly constructed, shrouded in a light mist year-round, with clouds drifting between the mountains, creating a dreamy, fairyland feel. Lingdong Palace is a palace-style temple built in the mountains of Xianshan, surrounded by clouds and mist year-round, showcasing exquisite geomantic beauty. Since the discovery of the spring water in the mountain, reputed to cure all diseases, the prestige of Lingdong Palace has gradually spread, attracting pilgrims from various places who come in groups to pay their respects and take the Xianshui home to drink. From the platform in front of Lingdong Palace, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the mountainous scenery of Xianshan.
