Qiu Liang-gong Mother's Filial Piety Archway Introduction
Qiu Lianggong's mother, Ms. Xu, was the wife of General Qiu Zhiren of the Qing Dynasty. Shortly after Qiu Lianggong's first month, his father, Qiu Zhiren, passed away. At that time, the young Ms. Xu worked hard to raise the barely one-month-old Qiu Lianggong. After growing up, Qiu Lianggong devoted himself to the military, rising from a grassroots soldier to a general. In the fourteenth year of the Jiaqing era, Qiu Lianggong was promoted to the Governor of Zhejiang for both land and water and petitioned the emperor to honor his mother, Ms. Xu. Emperor Renzong approved this, posthumously granting her the title of First-Class Lady and constructing an archway to commend her for maintaining her fidelity, raising an orphan, and educating her child. This archway was built in 1812, made of high-quality granite and bluestone, with intricate carvings depicting Qiu Lianggong's successful return home, along with couplets inscribed by famous people, leaving a deep impression!
