Qiu Liang-gong Mother Filial Piety Pavilion Introduction
Qiu Liangong's mother, Xu, was the wife of the Qing Dynasty General Qiu Zhiren. Shortly after Qiu Liangong's first month, his father Qiu Zhiren passed away. At that time, the young Xu diligently raised her son Qiu Liangong, who later joined the military and rose from a grassroots soldier to a general. In the fourteenth year of the Jiaqing Emperor's reign, Qiu Liangong was promoted to the Governor of Zhejiang’s Water and Land, and he petitioned the emperor to honor his mother Xu. He received commendation from Emperor Renzong, who conferred the title of First-grade Matriarch upon his mother and built an archway to commemorate her dedication in raising her son alone with integrity. This archway was constructed in 1812, using high-quality granite and blue stones, with intricate carvings that depict Qiu Liangong’s successful return to his hometown, along with couplets inscribed by famous figures, leaving a deep impression on visitors!
